Establishment of New COST Networks

Typically, there are two annual deadlines for proposals for funding of the establishment of a new COST network. Proposals must not exceed 15 pages. Next deadline is on 23 October 2024, at noon (12.00).

The proposal has four main sections:

1. S&T excellence
2. Networking excellence
3. Impact
4. Implementation.

Requirements for Proposal

COST funding proposals differ in many ways from ‘normal’ research applications.

Proposals for a COST network are subject to the following requirements:

  • Submission by a group of applicants consisting of a main applicant (main proposer) and at least six co-applicants (secondary proposers).
  • Participation from at least seven COST countries.
  • Participation from applicant countries of which at least 50% are Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC).
  • 100% anonymity. It must not appear from the proposal which persons are behind it.
